Why study this course

This course is designed for students interested in working as a teacher in Early Childhood centres, preschool and/or primary school settings. It provides students with a sound theoretical base for teaching along with opportunities to develop a repertoire of practical skills. The course is carefully structured with a balance between theory and practice in teaching. Students study a combination of specialised primary and early childhood units ensuring they are well prepared in both disciplines. Students engage in a series of education and curriculum study units clustered with appropriate professional experiences. This practical experience spans different levels and organisational modes from Birth through to year 6 in primary education settings. This course has been designed and developed in partnership with the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT).
